How to look after hair extensions?

i have got some clip in hair extentions, they are real hair and therefore can be straightend etc. you have to wash them etc. but i dont want the hair to become weak or break and straitening will cause this, what can i do to protect them from the heat and brushing etc. ?

i have hair extensions and have had them for 2 months plus...i have starightened and curled them lots of times, so dont worry about them becoming weak.

But to protect them u can always use regular hair products..like tres semme hair spray, which protests against straighteners. I use it and my hair is the same as when i first got it.

Another thing...be careful not to brush them too vigourously else that is when they break.

I am a devote user of hair extentions and weaves. Since they are human hair DUH!!!!! treat them as your own hair. There are seveal anti breakage creams and serums. Try Hot oil tratments when you was them, cholesterol and deep conditioning treatments. Vitamin E and advocado products do great to hydrate dry hair. Thats what causes breakage heat damage and dryness. Try Dark and Lovely 24 hours extreme heat therapy serum helped stop breakage in my hair and try to cut back on straightening limit yourself to one time a week to minimize damage.

If you are straighten them everyday then the hair just as you own would, will wear out and look dry. The hair has been processed already so you still need to take it easy. If you take them out every night then i would only suggest washing them 1or 2 times a month. They are not getting dirty.
