if ur hair is long enough to pull through the frosting cap then yes, use the brush to apply the bleach- do not attempt to so without any gloves or the applicator brush.

i don't personally like the little comb brushes that come in the box. the best way to highlight a guys hair if worn short is to get a color brush and brush it on with the corner of the brush where you want the highlights to be. this only takes a few min. to do. if you comb it thru with those combs, it clumps up and bleeds and looks hhorrible! if your not too sure about your technique, practice with just a couple of strokes at first, even a beginner can do this. feel free to email me with any further questions.

This must be done very carefully or your guy may end up looking like a dog named Spot or a Calico Cat. My suggestion as a retired licensed cosmetologist is to return the "drug store" do-it-yourself product and go to a professional especially if the hair you are going to highlight is dark brown or black. It may save you money in the long run because a color correction service is very expensive in most areas if you are fortunate enough to find a professional stylist who knows how to correct color. On the other hand, if the attempt to highlight goes bad, he can always just shave his head. Good luck.
