Does a perm dmagae your hair?

Hi i have tried everything to curl my hair but it never works, the curls always drop out after 2 hours, not good on a night out when your hair ends up looking like you simply havent brushed it

so im contemplating a perm,

does anyone have perms, and know if they are worth getting, or should i steer clear?

Does a perm dmagae your hair?

Let me tell you my own story first, when I was 12 years old I got my first relaxer from my mother, she waited late because she did not want to damage my hair at an early age and I was going to start taking care of my own hair so she thought the relaxer would give me some help. After I had gotten my third relaxer(so my hair was still thick), one day I was caught in the rain and all of my hair got wet. Once I was home I let my hair air dry however my ends were horribly dry and damaged so I cut off 3-4 inches of hair to begin my transition. Since I had natural hair all of my life this was a sharp contrast from what I was used to so I stopped getting relaxers when I was 13. African American hair is already very fragile and dry so it needs much attention, however relaxers make hair even more fragile and can cause dry hair, hair breakage, hair thinning, lack of hair growth, scalp irritation, scalp damage, hair loss. I was doing lots of damaging things to my when it was natural (like is currently and has been for the past 6 years) however it didn閳ユ獩 even hurt my hair that much. It still grew long, strong and healthy and now that I am learning things my hair has improved even more. With relaxed hair you must take extra precautions. I read that you relax a lot and you could be overprocessing your hair, make sure to stretch relaxers as long as possible and only relax the new growth. Relaxers damage hair by destroying the sulfide bonds in your hair which weaken hair and by changing the basic structure of the hair shaft. The chemical penetrates the cortex or cortical layer and loosens the natural curl pattern and in the process this strips hair of moisture. However you can still have a relaxer and has healthy hair that is thick and long by constant moisturizing, go to healthytextures.com, and you will see my hair inspiration Macheriamour and she has a relaxer(even though I refuse to get a relaxer). If you want more info just email me . Affirm relaxers are the best.

from the way i see this your not black soo....lol um

for people with your hair they usually do get a perm to turn their hair curly..lol try it out nothing wont happen

just get a kiddie perm like JUST FOR ME..something light on your head(if you've never gotten a perm before)

Does a perm dmagae your hair?

Perms can damage your hair, but if you take care of it correctly, it won't have any adverse affects unless you do it over and over and over again. It's like dying your hair. It's all chemicals. My hair is naturally wavy and when I try to further curl it, like yours, it falls out in a couple hours. My perm held up for about a month and that was it. It wasn't really worth the money for me. But you can always try it once, if you like it, just be careful how often you get them and make sure to keep your hair moisturized.

breaks down the hydrogen bonds then rebuilds them, yo.

What would you say is the best paint type for landscape painting? and whats best paper?

if you know, tell percentages of water to mix. i use accryilic with low water. i use basic "printer" paper. im only 11.. i also use horse hair brushes.just any facts or tips to help me advance!

What would you say is the best paint type for landscape painting? and whats best paper?

There is no best paint for landscapes. You will find the "best" paint for you... and that depends on your working methods %26amp; habits.

Using Acrylic paint you will want to investigate a "retardent" most manufacturers make a retardent that you can purchase in an art supply store.

Another thing to investigate is a "wetting agent" which can also be purchased in an art supply store [you can also use small amounts of liquid fabric softener for the same effects]

There are many art papers that are suitable for acrylic paints... and Arches Watercolor Blocks are just one manufacturers product... and they make hot press papers %26amp; cold press papers. [after you use a number of types of papers and surface finishes, you will find the papers that suit your needs best]

good luck with your art

What would you say is the best paint type for landscape painting? and whats best paper?

hey there kid..in my opinion oil paint is one of the option for landscapes, but watercolors can do wonders too if u use it well..jz dont make it too watery, small amount of water is good, because then u can experiment with the shadings..%26amp; as for the paper, by saying "printing paper" i assume u mean "A4 paper which is normally used for printing"..the best choice of paper for paintings--pls use an art block..its thick n doest absorb the water too much like an A4 paper does..

What would you say is the best paint type for landscape painting? and whats best paper?

I don't think there really is a best type of paint...it just depends on what you like to use. Oils are really expensive, but normally sell for more once you start selling your paintings...Acrylics look somewhat like oils but are a heck of a lot cheaper. The nice thing about acrylics is they aren't transparent and you can cover up mistakes. :) Watercolors can look great if you know what you're doing with them, but they are transparent and a lot harder to use because you can't cover up mistakes as well...

How much water to mix also depends on you. The more water you add in, the lighter and more watery the paints become. If you add enough water, you can get acrylics to look like watercolors. It just depends on what you're painting...it doesnt have to be one amount of water throughout the entire painting.

As to paper...I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "printer" paper, but sometimes having nice paper can make a big difference. Now that doesn't mean go out and buy the most expensive paper you can or your painting will suck, but you should try to buy paper that is made for the type of paint you are using. For acrylics there's acrylic paper, canvas, and basically anything else you want to paint on :) , and for watercolors there's watercolor paper that either comes in tablets or blocks - loose paper in the tablets needs to be stretched, paper in the blocks does not. It normally says on the packaging what kind of paints the paper is for.

Wow...I wish I had started painting as early as you. Don't be afraid to experiment!! Just try different things, and take some chances. There's lots of techniques you can do, I won't explain them here but if you would like to know some send me an email through my profile and I'd be happy to help.

You could also try asking your art teacher at school any questions you have, and you could look around town to see if there's anyone who gives art lessons, or sometimes schools will hold "clinics". That might be something to look into as well.

Good luck, and stick with it!!

I have a cat that is deaf so he must remain inside but the hair is driving me crazy!?

what is the best way to control the hair? I give him bathes, I don't give him baths. The brushes I use wont pick up the hair because it is so fine. I need suggestions for controling the shedding. HELP!!!

I have a cat that is deaf so he must remain inside but the hair is driving me crazy!?

I've found that a metal, wide tooth comb works the best for removing excess hair from a cat with long or very fine hair. Get one made specifically for cats from your local pet shop.

Vacuum frequently to keep the hair off your furniture and rugs - there are vacuums that you can get now with special attachments for removing pet hair. It may be worthwhile to look into buying one of those.

Buy some sticky lint-rollers and place them in convenient areas around your house for removing hair from your clothing.

As a last resort you could consider taking your cat to a professional groomer for a lion-cut. This is where they shave your cat's body, leaving long fur only on his paws, the tip of his tail, his head and the ruff around his neck. This option should be carefully considered, since many cats require mild sedation to be clipped and shaved, and you will need to make sure your cat won't get cold.

One of my friends regularly shaves her cat, and I recently had one of mine shaved because she was having problems keeping herself clean - neither cat was traumatized by being shaved.

I have a cat that is deaf so he must remain inside but the hair is driving me crazy!?

One of the BEST hair "picker-uppers" that I've found is.....a dishwashing glove....one of the yellow ones, with ribbed hand "palms". Just put that on your hand and "stroke" away....DRY (not wet)... The cat will love it, and whatever hair gets on the furniture/carpet can be removed with the same glove "treatment". It's fantastic! Have fun.................

I have a cat that is deaf so he must remain inside but the hair is driving me crazy!?

Hey I had a deaf cat that loved to ride on the vacuum cleaner, so vacuum your cat the noise is what they don't like. You won't have that problem

I have a cat that is deaf so he must remain inside but the hair is driving me crazy!?

Maybe try a shed thing. It is like a small blade brush that takes out the shedded fur. I've seen it at petco

I have a cat that is deaf so he must remain inside but the hair is driving me crazy!?

There is a glove you can get and it has a rubber grip on the palm side and it works a treat. Better than any of he drawer full of brushes I have for my cat... do it daily as if just petting your cat. Mine enjoys it so much he drools...

I have a cat that is deaf so he must remain inside but the hair is driving me crazy!?

A dog slicker brush (many little bent tines on it) or a metal comb are the best for those really fine coats with a lot of underfur.

Don't give baths, if you dry out the skin with those then you get more hair shed.

You can also make your hands wet and 'pet' the cat that way, rubbing palms together to get the fur on your hands to bunch up to toss away. That usualy works for me.

Detangle hair?

my sisters hair is straight and soft but filled with knots and tangles and its painful to hear her screams wen she gets it brushed any ttips detanglers dont work on her help

Detangle hair?

If it is getting tangled by sleeping, you could try a satin pillow case. It tangles the hair less than a cotton pillow. I also try to put some sort of silicone based product (frizz ease) in my hair while it is still wet, then gently pick through before drying it.

You can try to divert her attention (T.V. works wonders) while brushing it,.

But, unfortunately sometimes hair that fine needs to be cut to about shoulder length or shorter because no matter what you do it will tangle.

Detangle hair?

sometimes you need alot of conditioner with water mix

Detangle hair?

have her brush her hair when its wet....and maybe use conditioner....

Detangle hair?

spray on detangler is very good. If she isn't using that, she should start. When she brushes she should brush out the tangles at the bottom and work her way up. Also, it will brobably be easier to brush when its dry.

Detangle hair?

It might be the shampoo...I don't know how old your sister is, but some kids shampoos make hair sticky and more tangly. Try to switch off between shampoos to make sure no build up gets on her hair. I also think Biolage makes some sort of conditioner that detangles. (It's a little pricey, but worth it if you're tired of screams.)

Also make sure she brushes her hair often enough. And I know you said detangling sprays don't work, but try a more expensive/professional one if you come to the end.

Also make sure she gets her hair trimed every 6 weeks or so, this will make hair healthy and more sleek without tangles.

Hope I helped!

Detangle hair?

yeah i have to same pro. as her but i have curly hair. lol Flip your head up side down an brush it out and put alot of water on it cause it is easier to do it that way. but i just brush it up side down

Detangle hair?

try a good conditioner, maybe one while she is bathing and one that you can apply to the hair after she gets out of the tub. there are also detangling sprays that you may want to look into...

perhaps she has split ends that are making her hair become entangled, maybe she needs a trim

Detangle hair?

Besides getting it cut shorter. The only thing i can suggest is conditioning her hair after shampooing and detanglers. Buy a wide tooth comb and comb out when wet. My daughters hair is long and very curly i wouldn't even attempt brushing it dry and without a good conditioner.

Detangle hair?

i have the same problem sometimes(i have frizzy hair thats also curly it hurts to brush too)when i can i get cooking oil(mazola its vaggie based so better)i know this sounds weird...and get a shampoo,i suggest that its fruit based like frutice or,something like that, then get a bowl put about as much as tree tops of it the caps, that depends on how long hair is but if its longer the shoulder i suggest 4-5,them mix it together for a while put it on her hair, and wait the longer its on the softer, and straight it makes it also make it grew beter, and longer,if she has her hair dyed it wont harm it ...

Isn't it a shame that photography is not universally recognised as an Art?

People think of photography as a routine mechanical thing they sometimes do on holiday (or at parties with their mobile phone). This is a real pity. It is a bit like regarding painting as something routine or low level because as an activity it forms part of home decorating, or because the last time you did it you were at primary school!

The range of cheap cameras with brilliant optics, the advent of digital technology, and the wide spread of image manipulation software means that all can cheaply take up the tools and create! That so few, relatively speaking, actually do much more than record they were 'there' at some holiday locale seems to me to be a real pity, and to be a direct consequence of an unwillingness to accept that creativity is not confined to horse-hair brushes and chisels, but flows from the brain and the eye!

Isn't it a shame that photography is not universally recognised as an Art?

They say "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" for good reason. Appreciation of art in any form is highly subjective. One person's art may be another persons trash. Good photography is fine art because it reflects the photographer's way of seeing, and way of framing what he/she sees. Then the viewer must be able to interpret this, so its a two-way street. I think people trained in visual arts can appreciate other visual arts, including photography, more because they have had training in looking and seeing and trying to interpret the artists intention for framing what they see the way they do. This can also include digital photography and the manipulation of a digital image.

Isn't it a shame that photography is not universally recognised as an Art?

Thank you! I spent a good deal of time making "art" photography. It was a money "black-hole" for me because I sold very little, but my artist friends liked it a lot! Most of it is still hanging in my studio. Report It

Isn't it a shame that photography is not universally recognised as an Art?

I do consider a lot of photography art. And much of it is a visual recording of one's history. A friend of mine combines the two, spending a lot of time money and effort (with a lot of creativity thrown in) to create scrapbooks for people.

Isn't it a shame that photography is not universally recognised as an Art?

Not everyone is interested in the artistic or creative side. Photos to help your memory and to remind you of the people you have seen and know and of beautiful vistas are important and useful even if they are not artistic.

A pen and paper have been around for a long time without everyone taking up drawing after all.

Isn't it a shame that photography is not universally recognised as an Art?

Yes, it is art period. I suffer the same prejudice in my own area of art. As a caricature artist people often think you simply draw funny pictures but there is so much to it than that!

Isn't it a shame that photography is not universally recognised as an Art?

pressing a button can hardly be called art..

and its a copy from something that is not created by the person taking the photo.

Isn't it a shame that photography is not universally recognised as an Art?

hey!! some people don't even know what is this art thing. they don't even regconise drawings as art. that my friend is the reason that most people think that creativity is like something that geniuses do, and not some thing that everyone can do.

and it not only about using image manipulating software. it goes even before that, try composing your picture( that's design)

have you heard of calligraphy, it's writting as an art.

God bless,

gabe

Isn't it a shame that photography is not universally recognised as an Art?

To your primary query yes it is a bummer!

You seem to speak highly however of digital %26amp; computer manipulation thus allowing for creation but few do this.

Indeed the art does flow from the brain to the position of the body, the arm, hand, and the eye then to the mechanical wonderment.

I prefer less of the digital, computer, mechanical gadgets, but if I use a camera it would be a range finder or something like the manual Nikon FM3A,with this gadget at least one uses a bit more of the brain, and in fact if one develops their own can with the chemicals and or lack of some,as well as the use of light create art unlike that fabricated digital junk.

But yes I agree unfortunate it is to the world that it is not considered throughout the world as true art most public art shows whether in NY City, or Santos,Brazil one will find few if any that allow photography yet PHOTOGRAPHY in its more primitive is nothing but art,as is the precision of the working wonderment we call the camera.

Post Script what I mean by it not being considered true hands own art (even though we who also paint know that painting is done with instruments, after all we arent finger painting.), is that it is not allowed in many shows,or exhibits as many consider the use of a machine in making what they call art as non art.

There are a world of www pages that do not include photography,if you complain to the webmaster they have always told me try a photograhy site not an art site.

Isn't it a shame that photography is not universally recognised as an Art?

I have worked as a professional photographer and I can tell you that photography is a recognized art. Universally ? I am not sure of what you mean by "Universally". The artistic part of photography occurs in how a person positions a group of shapes within a photo using composition which is an art. Using different types of film and varying exposure times creates different results which sometimes requires an artistic approach to know what results you get to express your photo that could be just a snap shot with minimal effort on creativeness. There is the other spectrum that says you will get a better photo with a Hasselblad than a disposeable camera bought at Wal-Mart. This is where a photo may seem artistic when it is because of using more expensive equipment and technique that a person with big bucks can take a better more artistic photo than a cheap point and shoot camera. Does equipment advantages equal more artistic ability? This grey area of photography lends to the idea that it is more science and technique than artistic ability. Do the things you are photographing make the photo artistic? Where exactly does the art occur? Most art is created from hands on materials whereas in photography we rely on material selection, equipment, subject matter but nothing is really touched or created in regards to the film or digital image which is created by science regardless of what we take a photo of. Artistic people do own cameras and do create photographs that seem artistic but it is science with an illusion of artistic abilites that are really composed of operating equipment made by some company. Does a strip miner with a steam shovel render him an artist because he digs a hole in a fashionable way? Would this make a steam shovel operator an artist. Does defecating in an artistic manner make art? Or peeing in the snow writing your name?

Isn't it a shame that photography is not universally recognised as an Art?

But it is!!!! Check out work by Nan Goldin, for example. Beautiful images. And the Magnum crowd ...

Isn't it a shame that photography is not universally recognised as an Art?

Not true.

There are photographs in most of the world's top art galleries. Most well-respected artists take art-photographers seriously.

I also believe that the popularity of photography, the cheapness of the cameras, the brilliance of the optics, or the ability to manipulate images, is completely irrelevant to this very old and tired discussion.

Isn't it a shame that photography is not universally recognised as an Art?

If you look in the "Discover" section you will find that questions like this one have been asked 206 times already, on Yahoo! Answers.

Isn't it a shame that photography is not universally recognised as an Art?

I agree and yet disagree with your statement. It is one of the most universally accepted forms of art in the world today. In households anywhere there are photographs, in magazines, in books, in newspapaers, in personal albums etc etc. It is a form of art many of us express in a way that appeals to us. My photographs tend to be more dramatic than my friends because I try to capture the essence of an occasion rather than do a headcount, but hey thats why its art. I agree with you because in the main people do just that 'headcount' and make sure everyone was in the shot.

Isn't it a shame that photography is not universally recognised as an Art?

I see three types of photography.

First, there is the snap shot taker, the man with the digital camera that just wants to record his son riding on a pony. Christmas, Easter, birthdays, etc are his main forte. I have a brother in law that brings a damned digital camera to my house and spends all day snapping pictures, that bothers the devil out of me, I don't like that and it does not fit within the guidelines of the type of day that I wanted.

Second, there is the rote photography work, the commercial portrait photographer who may go on location to shoot events, but more often stands there, puts a baby in an intesting position, and starts taking photographs. I am not saying that he is not an artist. This field would include the most boring aspect of photography, weddings, which again, are rote - if you have shot one, you can shoot them all.

Then there is the artistic photographer and he can take pictures of about anything, but more or less he specializes in things such as landscapes. Photoshop and the myriad of other computer programs can help him adjust the pictures, but in reality, he can do what he wants without it. I don't like taking pictures of people and I don't like flash. I relegate my time to natural things and find myself often down a mountain side taking pictures of water falls under natural conditions. I use filters if I want, but I really like things au naturale.

Isn't it a shame that photography is not universally recognised as an Art?

I think that you might be asking a mixed question here-on the one hand you are stating that photography is a tool which could be used by all to create art-and not just a visual record, and on the other you seem to be unsure-or to regard photography as not being accepted as a creative art. I don閳ユ獩 know if I got that confused-but it seems to me that many art forms are like that-drawings, sketching and paintings could be created by anyone-and are-some very badly-which make it to the top and in galleries, and some highly skilled works which do not become famous unless the artist has died. The thing is-its all subject to trends, fashions, the most recent 'darling' and those works are respected for sheer technical brilliance and a spark of something else-composition, lighting, flow. It could be argued that it should also be the same for photographs-if this is what you mean-that it is to be respected as an art form-which it is-and has been for many years-but perhaps not as much as paintings or sculptures, and the fact remains that it is mechanical-and frequently used to record work-or as an aid to a project. There have been many fine art exhibitions of photographs-recording certain subjects. Unlike paintings and other art forms, photography is a little more difficult to classify, and because of this it is best if the person has a specific aim-theme-goal-idea or mood in mind for the photographs-perhaps it is the motive or purpose behind it which would make it art. In 'Photography and the body' (1995) by John Pultz, photography is described as "the most modern of all media in the visual arts" linked with modernism and enlightenment. It閳ユ獨 a fantastic book-and all of the pieces in it are considered art-and are powerful meaningful images.

Isn't it a shame that photography is not universally recognised as an Art?

I feel pretty daunted by how many serious and intelligent answers you've already had, but I'm going to take a risk.

I've been a landscape photographer (as a hobby, I mean) for many years. I use professional grade equipment, have wandered around the coasts of Spain and the ancient cities of Malta, composed thousands of photos, experimented with many films, lenses, etc., and sometimes loved the results. But I've become tired of people saying that photography is an art. It's a craft. It depends upon having an eye for beauty (colour or figure of form or whatever) and the requisite technical knowledge of the equipment and the photographic process. In this respect, it is indeed like making very fine furniture or decorating a room beautifully. The products of an artist - good or bad, that's the point - depend purely upon his or her unique mental abilities (to produce a good-or-bad painting or a poem), not his or her ability to appreciate something interesting or beautiful and capture it using equipment. Think about it for a moment. Raphael was an artist of genius. Ansel Adams was a craftsman of genius.

Will spironolactone cause massive hair shedding.?

I have been prescribed 200 mg of spironolactone for AGA and for some reason after 2 weeks of taking 100 mg my hair starts to shed a lot (from an average of 30 a day to 200-300 a day). The shed seems to last and last. I get freaked out and stop the medication. I have heard from a number of women that this can happen. My doctor doesn't really answer the question when I ask. He brushes it off and says that I would have lost the hair anyway. I'm really scared it might be having a negative effect on me but at the same time I don't have too many options for my AGA and maybe the shedding is normal. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

How do I wrap my hair around my head properly?

Recently got a nice weave - slick bob and the person who done my hair said that in order to keep it looking slick i needed to wrap it up properly before i go to bed at night so that in the morning it lookes slick. How do I do this, and what kind of brush is needed to do this. Please could some - one get back to me.

How do I wrap my hair around my head properly?

my question to you is have you ever wrap your hair would the weave? the reason i am asking you is because its the same way....do this by the way i have been doing hair for 21 years...do this brush the hair on your best side meaning if the bob is asymmetrical (to one side) brush it the opposite direction...i always start on the left then brush it around to the right...because it is weave get you some hairpins to keep the hair in place...you really don't need to oil the hair either....tie your hair up with a scarf...and when you are really to go somewhere...just brush or comb the hair in the direction you brushed it OK....good luck

How can I avoid nappy hair?

Hi,

I really do not want to cut my hair but don't know how to keep it from getting too nappy at times. The problem is that my hair sometimes wants to go curly and sometimes not. It gets sort of clumpy; an hour after it's brushed or combed it looks matted. How can I keep my hair, which is past my shoulders, neat looking throughout the day. any tips would be helpful.

How can I avoid nappy hair?

there is a product by Aveda called hair refresher that is really nice that you can spray on around lunch time.

Also, you can get a protein treatment at wal-mart to treat your hair about 1x a week.

Next, when you do go to the salon get a clear coloring. that will add shine to your hair and keep in maintained.

Thirdly, embrace your hair's moods.

(for straight shiny hair) how do you dry your hair? I recommend flipping over and brushing it repeatedly while you are blowdrying it. Then take a shine spray (put it in your hands, not in your hair!) and run your fingers through the base of your hair (not at the top - otherwise you could look oily)

(for curly hair) let it dry naturally and use a strong mousse/gel and crunch it for the day.

Don't cut your hair!!! However, maintain routine trimmings. That is really the best thing overall that you can do.

I have the same problem and would be grateful for any suggestions

At that time (which was right after the London scare) all of those items were allowed, provided that you carried on only one bag and a personal bag. By this they mean a carry-on bag and something similar to a purse, so you could take a small backpack and a carry-on, but not a backpack and a carry-on and a purse. See? We all had to remove our shoes and jackets or sweaters %26amp; put them in a plastic tray before going through the metal detectors. Everybody had to take off their shoes, didn't matter what kind. (Even flip-flops.)

The best advice is to go to tsa.gov and check for the latest updates on travel restrictions. And by the way, the TSA makes those security restrictions, not the individual airlines.

Why is my hair falling out?

My hair is falling out more than usual for about a week or so, a few at a time. Most comes out when I brush it. I am nursing a 4-month old (I take my vitamins), I started taking 25mg Zoloft, and take thyroid meds. Would any of these cause hair loss/breakage?

Why is my hair falling out?

Your hair is falling out because your not pregnant anymore. When you're pregnant, the hormones keep your hair from falling out. Now that you're not pregnant these hormones are going back to normal and you're losing all of that hair you kept during pregnancy. Thyroid is probably another factor. Talk to your doctor about it.

Why is my hair falling out?

All of those are possible causes. If your thyroid isn't completely leveled out, it can cause hair loss. Some of the meds can, too. It is normal to lose a lot of hair after having a baby, too. That is usually the worst between the 6 week to 3 months after delivery, though.

You should go to your doctor with your concerns. He can make sure your thyroid is regulated properly and offer some solutions. This website can help, too:

Good luck!

Why is my hair falling out?

i dont know about the zoloft etc. I started loosing some of my hair when i brushed or hatever. it was b/c i was lacking iron. i now take a iron vitamin.

Why is my hair falling out?

It's common right after having a baby. Mine lasted for a few months during pregnancy and a few months after. My son is now 16 months and it finally stopped. It gets better as it gets farther away from when you gave birth.

Why is my hair falling out?

I ONLY KNOW THAT WHEN YOU HAVE AH BABY THAT CAN CAUSE HAIR LOSS

TAKE UR PRE-NATO PILLS

Why is my hair falling out?

Why is my hair falling out?

"My 5 yr old, is terrified of hair cuts, and he's due"..HELP?

Well dont know how it happened..it takes 3 people to give him a haircut !! I just cry and cry..!

He's dad is going to do it this weekend !

Since his very first hair cut around 1 yrs, he is just the most pitiful thing, it would break your heart!

We try to just do it every 3 mo. or so.

Ive tried the mall , some specialize in kids cuts, have special vices, airplane seats and all.Didnt work.

He has never liked any loud, buzzing sound.

Just little things like when he was a baby, he would hide under the bed, when he was watching the Pink Panther cartoon, cause he was using an electric tooth brush Even when Dad cuts his mustache he runs in panic, cause its like the clippers.

Also every time i vacum i have to put him and some toys on his top bunk...its really sad !

So back to the hair cut.."any ideas?

"My 5 yr old, is terrified of hair cuts, and he's due"..HELP?

alllll of my litte brothers are scared of hair cuts too.

even when i jsut use scissors. i watched my brother cry and cry for his first hair cut. but after that he was fine.

is he only scared of load nosies? then jsut use scissors.

Do his hair yourself, or have his dad do it. Have a movie playing, give him a lollipop ( of anything else on a stick that he enjoys) and constantly talk to him during the hair cut, ask him questions. keep his mind off the hair cut.

sometimes you just have get through it the first time and then they'll get over it.

good luck, feel better =]

"My 5 yr old, is terrified of hair cuts, and he's due"..HELP?

dont use trimmers if he's afraid of them

just use scissors and trim his hair

why keep it buzzed anyway

"My 5 yr old, is terrified of hair cuts, and he's due"..HELP?

Hmm. It sounds like he doesn't like the noise. Put headphones on him! That's what I do when we run the vaccum. Then she doesn't hear the vaccum. It might work with the haircut. But if that dont work, then cut alittle of your hair to show him the Mommi and Daddi do it. Then brib him with a treat.

I hope these work =)

"My 5 yr old, is terrified of hair cuts, and he's due"..HELP?

My daughter hated getting her hair cut when she was little.I would sit in the chair and let her sit in my lap. That way you can hold her arms.It can be a little messy but it always made her feel more secure.Maybe earplugs for the noise? You could wear them also.My daughter grew out of her fear.Hopefully he will too.Good luck.

"My 5 yr old, is terrified of hair cuts, and he's due"..HELP?

When I took my 1 1/2 year old son to get his hair cut, we took him to a place called Clippers for Kids. They were excellent there. Try to do away with the clippers. Most clippers do scare children. Have them sit in front of a TV watching their favorite show, have them play a video game. Have him take control of the clippers to show him that they are harmless. Have dad give him his mustache trimmer (if he has one), to show him that it is harmless as well. Once the child gets use to the item and knows its not going to harm him, he should lighten up a little bit and make things much easier for you and the hair dresser! Good luck!!

"My 5 yr old, is terrified of hair cuts, and he's due"..HELP?

get him a cartoon toothbrush that has batteries and makes noises and vibrates. Let him play with it and let him see it doesnt hurt. Then show him the clippers in a non haircutting situation, just to show him how it doesnt hurt. use it on his arm or somewhere. or take him and one of his buddies together and let the buddy get his hair done first (of course make sure it is someone he truly likes, and someone who isn't afraid of the clippers). Then he will see it is ok. I had a 5 year old boy in my daycare who had a disability and was afraid of loud noises and these are the things I did before I took him for his hair cut.

"My 5 yr old, is terrified of hair cuts, and he's due"..HELP?

I don't know your Son but, I too hated the 'buzzers' when I was a kid..............AND MY BEST UNCLE WAS 'THE' BARBER!! I was better when he only used the Scissors.

I'd say for now stick to the Scissor cutting only..........Have you ever tried taking him to a Barber where kids go...let him watch them...criers or not.... Let him see it really isn't all that bad!

"My 5 yr old, is terrified of hair cuts, and he's due"..HELP?

Make A Game Of It ..Get Him A Pair Of Old Clippers A Few old Stuffed Animals Let Him Trim The Stuffed Animals ..See If This Will help..Good Luck..Tell Dad To Try to get Him To Help With Hedge Clippers Etc. Buy Him Some Buzzing Toys

How can i dry my hair fast in the morning?

i dont want to use a blow dryer because that just gets it super frizzzy, not that it already .

if i let it airdry, it puffs up and looks totaly unbrushed when i did brush it

im 12

i have to take a shower in the morning

i have like 15 min to do my hair. i need it frizz free, and dry.

thanks

oh yea imy hair is past my shoulders, maybe a couple inches.

How can i dry my hair fast in the morning?

Blow drying it is really the best way to go if you don't want to shower at night. If it gets frizy, you're just not blow drying it right. It's hard to explain how I do it, but I use a brush with holes in the back that allows more air to flow through the hair, and I dry the ends first... you'll get dry ends if you leave them wet for too long, so dry them first. Then put your bangs into place, and dry the top, set your part how you want it. Dry it more on the top, use a brush to pull the hair away from your head and blow it downwards. It doesn't get frizy that way. Don't try to do too much at a time, it dries faster when you do less hair. Then to finish, turn your head upside down and brush it up, and blow it for a few seconds. Then just brush it normally... it takes me about 5 minutes to do and I have really long hair. Hope it works for you!

How can i dry my hair fast in the morning?

All I mean by blowing it down is, instead of having the blow drying facing any direction on your hair, bring it above your head and point it down at your hair. Hope that makes more sense. Report It

How can i dry my hair fast in the morning?

just take your showers at night, and figure it out then, then in the morning it 'll be good for your time

How can i dry my hair fast in the morning?

why don't you shower and dry your hair the night before and that you can use a flat iron in the morning if needed. If your hair is curly, let it air dry, curly hair is very pretty.

How can i dry my hair fast in the morning?

Quick Slip, by Paul Mitchell will help your hair dry faster

How can i dry my hair fast in the morning?

I have naturally curly hair, and like you, my time is limited in the morning. So i put only 1 to 2 dime sized drops of Garnier Sleek and Shine in my hair (everywhere but the roots) and then quickly blowdry. It doesn't make your hair frizzy, but makes it soft and smooth. I love it, and it's really cheap so it wouldn't hurt to test it out?

Or else, you always have the option of taking a shower before bed, then just fixing it up in the morning with a straightening iron or a blowdryer.

Huge Knot IN HAIR HOW DO I GET IT OUT Easier?? Besides Brushin??

THeres a huge knot in my hair wahts a easier way to get it out other than brushing it?

Huge Knot IN HAIR HOW DO I GET IT OUT Easier?? Besides Brushin??

Put conditioner or olive oil on it for 15-20 minutes, then comb out with a wide tooth comb.

Start at ends of hair, and work your way up to knot - clip all 'unknotted' hair out of the way.

Try a rat-tail comb or a pick to get the knot to loosen up.

Comb thru all hair, and wash [ don't forget to scrub the comb., and the pick. ]

Always comb long hair out from the bottom up.

NEVER brush wet or knotted hair - it will split and break off.

Huge Knot IN HAIR HOW DO I GET IT OUT Easier?? Besides Brushin??

SOAK IT IN CONDITIONER %26amp; SOME OLIVE OIL FOR 20 MINUTES AND THEN RINSE IT OUT AND IT SHOULD BE GONE

Huge Knot IN HAIR HOW DO I GET IT OUT Easier?? Besides Brushin??

put conditioner in your hair and use a wide toothed comb and comb it out while the conditioner is still inn.

Huge Knot IN HAIR HOW DO I GET IT OUT Easier?? Besides Brushin??

Use your fingers or the end of a rattail comb to pick into the knot and work it out. Conditioner helps.

Huge Knot IN HAIR HOW DO I GET IT OUT Easier?? Besides Brushin??

when the hair is dry get a product called afraid knot you can get it at great clips hair salon spray on and us a wide tooth comb start at the bottom and work your way up. that way your not just moving the knot to the bottom and making a bigger knot

Huge Knot IN HAIR HOW DO I GET IT OUT Easier?? Besides Brushin??

Take a shower and pay attention to your hair and soak with conditioner rinse with colder water to make it shiny. Then brush.

Huge Knot IN HAIR HOW DO I GET IT OUT Easier?? Besides Brushin??

When in the shower, you can rub in some olive oil and work it out slowly with a wide tooth comb or your fingers, then wash out the oil with shampoo. The oil is a mess, but it works and is a good deep moisturizer for your hair too.

Huge Knot IN HAIR HOW DO I GET IT OUT Easier?? Besides Brushin??

wash your hair with shampoo and LOTS of conditioner. if you have any put hair detangler in it and brush away.

Huge Knot IN HAIR HOW DO I GET IT OUT Easier?? Besides Brushin??

I know its gonna sound wierd but if normal detanglers dont work theres a really cool product for horses called cowboy magic and it is amazing for knots and on people too. you can find it at any country feed store like costal. It leaves it slippery and stuff but conditioner gets it out. Call me crazy but it works.

Huge Knot IN HAIR HOW DO I GET IT OUT Easier?? Besides Brushin??

Put lots of conditioner and try combing it with the conditioner and leave it on for about 1-10 minutes. Then buy a leave in conditioner or a dentagling spray.

I would like hair help...?

I am medium-brown hair, shoulder length and kinda dry. I would like it to be smooth, shiny, and easy to put up in a new do; tired of the straight up in a barrett or down and windy; I would like some curl with a little bit of volume; any ideas? I have a wavy iron, but doesnt give me the curl that I want. I also have curlers, but ends up too crinky and crimped up (like a tiny curl doodle) and when I end up brushing or combing it down - they end up flat and stringy. I have gel, hairspray, mousse; shampoo is Pantene Pro-V Smooth%26amp;Sleek or Finesse (same with conditioner), and a milk smoother for damp towl-dryed hair. When it dries, how do I keep it the smooth and shiny look, while trying to obtain a little wave? I have a hairdryer, and I rinse with cool water.

I would like hair help...?

After you shower and towel dry your hair. I would recommend using Frederic Fekkai Glossing cream (made with olive oil) and scrunch your hair in your hands. This will leave your hair silky soft %26amp; give you natural looking wave.

I would like hair help...?

Use a product called Dream Curlz from FREEZE閳ヮ敨ASE

I would like hair help...?

TRESemme' . I had the SAME EXACT problem girl!!

I have been using this for 3 months now and my hair is TO DIE FOR. Try IT you'll like it. Good Luck. P.S. Get the kind for volumn. OK........OK

I would like hair help...?

First of all good for you to rinse with cold water cause that makes your hair extremely shiny! Also if you want mores shine there is this new product from john Freida called glaze, and they work really well. If you want your hair curly buy a curling iron (with a really thin metal part) and those will make natural looking curls.

Good luck! I hope I helped!

I would like hair help...?

Try putting oil in your hair and wash it out after an hour or so.Use it once a week it will take away the dryness. For shine try a few drops of biosilk on dry hairUse hot rollers then brush your hair out so its not very curly and then use biosilk so your hair are managable and shiny and a nice wave too.

I would like hair help...?

If you want cheap then get John frieda steps 1-5 curling hair serum. Follow the directions and you will have awesome curls and your hair will not be dried out.

How do I keep it looking normal without having to brush it every five minutes?

My hair often looks bad and scraggly if I haven't brushed it in a while. Do people use products for this? I'm completely clueless when it comes to hair.

How do I keep it looking normal without having to brush it every five minutes?

you can either use leave in conditioner, try infusium...or, you can use Sunsilk "antipoof creme"

How do I keep it looking normal without having to brush it every five minutes?

How do I keep it looking normal without having to brush it every five minutes?

There is a finishing lotion called Shine Pro-Pak. Once you style your hair, spray it on.

It leaves your hair glossy and manageable. Great stuff you can buy at a Beauty Supply.

How to straighten frizzy hair each morning? (guy)?

I'm a guy, with very-frizzy %26amp; semi-wavy hair that blows and fluffs up in the slightest bit of wind. I wash my hair every morning, and I'd like to know what to do after that to keep my hair straight, not frizzy, and not moving in the wind.

Here are the products I have to work with:

- Blow Dryer

- Flat Ceramic Straightening Iron

- Brush %26amp; Comb

- Neutrogena Triple Moisture Healing Shine Serum

- got2b defiant hair pomade

- Aussie Maximum Hold Hair Gel

To straighten and style my hair, in what order should I dry, straighten, use the iron, and apply serum? I have some good products to work with, but am confused with when to apply them. Help! Thanks!

How to straighten frizzy hair each morning? (guy)?

I respect a guy who wants to style his hair nicely =]

First of all, unless your hair gets SUPER greasy and oily, don't wash every day. Take a shower of course, but washing with shampoo can make your hair super dry which will make it even more frizzy. Also, use as few products as possible because they'll make your hair have a limp look. I'm guessing your hair is semi-long as well or else you wouldn't be concerned. So first blow dry your hair to get it nice and ready. Then apply the healing serum per directions on the packaging because that will make your hair protected from the heat and hopefully tone down the frizziness. You can also try a product like the cheap TreSemme heat protection spray. And then when you're done applying the serum straighten like normal. You shouldn't even need the pomade or gel. And as long as you don't get your hair wet, it'll stay straight and sleek! Once you're done straightening, if it's still kind of frizzy rub some more serum between your palms and smooth it over the frizzies.

How to straighten frizzy hair each morning? (guy)?

first of all after you wash your hair towel dry it for about five minutes then use your got 2 b stuff before your blowdry and while your blowdrying your hair use a comb to comb it straight when thats done straighten your hair then use the aussie maximum holh hair gel hope this helps=)

How to straighten frizzy hair each morning? (guy)?

blow dry ur hair to get it dry, then straighten it, then but that other crap u listed just make sure its not a lot so it doesnt get like wettish

How to straighten frizzy hair each morning? (guy)?

a few bad moves on your list!

never use a blow dryer on wavy hair.

straighting iron another no no.

only comb your hair when it's wet, brush when it's dry!!

BUT for wavy hair. .. scrap the hair brush!

the other things I'm not sure about.

but the Aussie hair gel may be good.

just finger this gel through your hair when you get out of the shower... comb it through while still wet.. then leave it be.

How can I stop my hair from shedding excessively???

My hair is mid-back long and it sheds soooo much!!! Everytime I brush/comb, shower or just play with my hair a lot falls off!!! What can I do? They are all over the place and my hair is starting to lose its volume. HELLPP!!!

How can I stop my hair from shedding excessively???

OK... it's normal to lose anywhere from 40 to 100 hairs a day. If your hair is very long it's going to seem like alot more than if its short just from the length of each hair. But if you notice the actual diameter (how big around it is) of your hair is also smaller than it used to be than it could be a form of alopecia(hair loss) and you should see your doctor. There is a syndrome that can include hair loss that you should check to see if you have other symptoms of called polycystic ovarian syndrome which is a SYNDROME not a disease so don't get freaked out! You can check for other symptoms of this @ soulcysters.com . But probably its just that you have long hair so those hundred hairs seem excessive!Keep washing and conditioning your hair with the proper products for your hair type and stop with the pony tails as that can cause breakage (traction alopecia) take vitamins and splurge on a scalp massage (or trade rubs with a friend!) And also realise that if you have your hair up for more than a day you are going to have more hairs trapped that would have shed if down( ie; 2 days up= 80 -200 hairs, 3 days = 120- 300 hairs) so you can see how that would seem huge when you brushed or washed it!

How can I stop my hair from shedding excessively???

Maybe you are using the wrong shampoo/conditioner, maybe there is too much chemicals in it

How can I stop my hair from shedding excessively???

Most of the time this happens because of stress or wearing tight hairdues (pony tails). The advice i can give you is to just relax a little more and try not to wear pony tails. By the way my hair used to fall off a lot when i washed my hair everyday. And its important not to wear too much conditionar. It makes your hair fall off too. Well thats it.

How can I stop my hair from shedding excessively???

Sometimes when hair gets very long it starts to fall out some. Try trimming it about 4 inches. That may help. It worked for me.

How can I stop my hair from shedding excessively???

STOP using so much conditioner! condition ends only. Pantene conditioner or any heavy conditioner will make your hair fall out more than normal shedding.

How can I stop my hair from shedding excessively???

dont use harsh shampoos. use stuff for color treated or permed hair. if i were you id make a "tonic" out of 1 or 2 raw eggs, a fair amount of cinnamon, like a tsp of apple cider vinegar(takes oil out so its not flat and it minimizes your pores so the hair wont want to come out as easily),depending on your hair color-black tea for dark(will darken your hair and make it shinier and its really good for hair and skin) or green tea for light(same effects but w/o darkening your hair), put some plain yogurt if you have some, otherwise just skip it.

put this in your hair before showering(obviously mix/blend it well first massage it into your scalp(make sure theres enough cinnamon cuz thats wat helps w/ this part) and leave on for oh say 20 to 30 minutes. then rinse it out w/ a little shampoo. i hope it works for you. it did wonders on my hair.

How can I stop my hair from shedding excessively???

Your hair is going to come out whether you like it or not! It's suppose to. On average you should lose 100 hairs per day! But if it seems excessive, start taking vitamins, eat healthier, increase your water intake. Stress can cause hair to fall out, depression can also. Pulling your hair back all the time can. Not conditioner, so whatever everyone else is saying is ridiculous. YOU SHOULD ALWAYS CONDITION YOUR HAIR, NOT JUST THE ENDS! Try adding layers in, you'll notice less shedding. Brush more than when you fix your hair, in the morning. Get scalp massages, this will increase blood flow to your scalp and promote new hair growth.

How can I stop my hair from shedding excessively???

get a haircut, don't put it in ponytails for a while, and don't wash it everyday...just every other day.

How can I stop my hair from shedding excessively???

I am too going through the same problem for the past 5 months, it started when i got my hair dyed to a medium brown color. I have been taking a prenatal vitamin and that seems to help, but only a little bit. I think stress has alot to do with it,but it's a catch 22 because i'm stressing about my hair! Try to relax and keep your mind off of it. And if you find out how to stop it, please let me know!! My girlfriend had the same problem after she dyed her hair and she said it took about 8 months to stop, crazy huh?

How can I stop my hair from shedding excessively???

This could actually be the sign of a vitamin and mineral deficiency. You may want to up your daily vitamin regime or get on one if you're not already.

How can I stop my hair from shedding excessively???

go to your GP to see if you have anything wrong

you could have mild alopecia

My hair is falling out by the handful, anybody know why?

I am 20 weeks pregnant and I've noticed the past couple of weeks my hair falling out by the handful when I wash it. Also, there is loads of hair on my bathroom floor from brushing it. I have to sweep everyday. I know hormones do weird things to your body. Is this normal? If so, am I lacking something from my diet. Everyone says your hair should be super pretty when your pregnant, mine just breaks and falls out.

My hair is falling out by the handful, anybody know why?

It is better to get it checked to rule out any deficiencies. Badly damaged hair breaks at the scalp. To treat hair loss apply a little lemon juice with some black tea. Massage well and shampoo. Rub oil into the scalp. Wring out a towel in hot water and wrap it on the head. Keep it on for 15 minutes. Shampoo and dry well. Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.

My hair is falling out by the handful, anybody know why?

call your doctor.. i dont think thats normal. http://www.americanpregnancy.org/pregnan...

My hair is falling out by the handful, anybody know why?

I had that problem and it turned out I had an underactive thyroid. Just mention the hair loss to your dr.

My hair is falling out by the handful, anybody know why?

mine did that for the first five months, but dont worry it is fine.

it eventually stopped about month 6. my doc said it was just due to hormones and not to worry too much. hope this helps.

My hair is falling out by the handful, anybody know why?

My hair fell out by the handful throughout my pregnancy and until my baby was about 6 months old. It is totally due to hormones.

My hair is falling out by the handful, anybody know why?

That happened to me when i wasn't pregnant. It was an iron defficiency, it may be the same now. Definitely call your doctor or nurse advice line just to make sure it isn't anything serious.

Also, everyone told me my hair would NOT fall out during pregnancy, but it did. It wasn't luscious or super pretty, it just got straighter.

My hair is falling out by the handful, anybody know why?

LOL I thought the same thing. It is normal. It grows back!!! I had a receiving hair line!!! LOL It will grow back its those crazy hormones!!!! Good Luck God Bless and congrats!!!

My hair is falling out by the handful, anybody know why?

Biracial hair!!?

i am biracial black and white and my hair is frizzy and tangled any tips like hairstyles, products, combs, brushes?? anything HELP!!!

Biracial hair!!?

Homegirl--the hot comb is your friend!! lol, From one mixed girl to another, the easiest thing for me to do is get a wide-toothed comb and comb my hair out when I get out the shower and my hair's still wet. Then I blowdry it out and straighten it with either a hot comb or a flat iron (a metal one, not the ones that plug into the wall unless it works on your hair).

I'm mixed with Native, too, so my hair reeeeally holds soap and is curly, so I dunno if your hair texture is similar to mine or not. I also use Suave shampoo and a sheer spritz. And no heavy gels or anything like that.

Dunno if that helped, but e-mail me if I can help ya! :)

Biracial hair!!?

Garnier Fructis hair shampoo and conditioner..... pony-tail or high bun (messy)

Biracial hair!!?

Well try stay away from brushes and stick to combs if your hair is curly, it can make it too frizzy!

I use a heat protectant cream (wella) that has a bit of a hold on my hair, and it keeps my curls in control! It is in a red tin thing, but there are loads of brands you should try.

Also try leave in conditioner.

I think the best hairstyle is a ponytail, something like this:

http://f3c.yahoofs.com/shopping/mcid2_34...

It looks pretty if you grow your hair really long, and leave two strands in the front out and straighten them!

I'm only 11 yrs old and I'm losing my hair! Why is this happening?

It could be that you have male pattern baldness. Too Much Testostrone in your female body. See your Doctor.

I'm only 11 yrs old and I'm losing my hair! Why is this happening?

wash your hair too often?

straighten too often?

curl too often?

blow dry too often?

might be one of them

I'm only 11 yrs old and I'm losing my hair! Why is this happening?

ur losing hair most probably cuz of hormonal imbalances and if u keep worryin about ur hairfall, it will only increase.I have some very good tried and tested methods which should work for you:

a- apply essential oils to ur head(preferably olive oil) atleast once every two week before you go to shampoo your hair and mix that oil with some warmed curry leaves...it makes ur hair thicker.

b- use mild shampoos (mostly johnson's baby, etc.) as they hav less chemicals

c- if the above dont work...which is quite impossible-go see a tricologist

So just chill out and dont get too concious about ur hair, its just a passing phase. Here is a fact that should make u feel better--more than 50% of females have hormonal imbalances which are not permanent (I for eg. hav acne on my face and i'm 15...but its dissapearin) so dont worry ure not the only one

ALL THE BEST!!

I'm only 11 yrs old and I'm losing my hair! Why is this happening?

I wouldn't worry about it to much, it could be stress, mine falls out allot when it gets to thick or when the weather changes, just relax and go with the flow, if it gets to bad, ask your mom to take you to get it looked at

I'm only 11 yrs old and I'm losing my hair! Why is this happening?

it's natural to loose 100-200 hairs a day so you are probably fine.

I'm only 11 yrs old and I'm losing my hair! Why is this happening?

I'm only 11 yrs old and I'm losing my hair! Why is this happening?

Just permed hair ... good products to make look good not poofy!??

I would like to know what i can put in my hair to make it look good. not greasy or crunchy but not poofy! how do you put it up on the sides with out brushing out all the curl. Also i tried mousse and it just feels like really wet? Help me style my hair!!! new do and not sure what works best!

Just permed hair ... good products to make look good not poofy!??

There is a product made by Paul Mitchell called Awapuhi Moisture Mist, that works well on permed hair. Also try using a product by Biolage that is called Curl Defining Creme and

Kenra platinum silkening Gloss or any type of silk drops. this makes my hair soft, shiny and manageable. I also use a Biolage hydro foaming styler too. Don't use a blow dryer, let it dry naturally,if possible. And always use a shampoo and conditioner made especially for color treated and/or permed hair.

To put your sides up,try using a pick or wide tooth comb instead of a brush. Don't pull the hair too tight or you'll pull the curl out.

Also, make sure to use a good conditioning balm, such as Biolage at least once a week as perms really drain the moisture from your hair.

Good luck to you! Z.

Just permed hair ... good products to make look good not poofy!??

You're welcome. Happy for you! Report It

Just permed hair ... good products to make look good not poofy!??

Potion #9 what you can buy at hair salons. Miracle stuff.

Just permed hair ... good products to make look good not poofy!??

Just get something from the salon. Salon products are better. You can find something there that will really work, and won't be that much more expensive than the high end drug store products.

Just permed hair ... good products to make look good not poofy!??

Use a ligt moisturizer or leave in conditioner. Or hairspray with vitamins and minerals in it not the sticky kind. Gel is always great too.

Just permed hair ... good products to make look good not poofy!??

um a pic would help babe. im a hairdresser and id answer ur q truthfully but cant cos i cant see it.

sorri

Just permed hair ... good products to make look good not poofy!??

Well i have never permed my hair but my sister has, and she said that the best thing to use is products by AUSSIE.

How to tame curled hair...?

after washing my hair yesterday i put it in 2 french plaits. I had it plaited all day yesterday and all night last night. when i let it down this morning it was lovely and wavy but it was a bit big!

i had the straighten it for work! How can i tame it and flatten it down so it is wavy but not like a lions mane?

I didnt brush it before anyone says i did! I ran my fingers thru it to make it tangle-free.

How to tame curled hair...?

Don't run your fingers (or anything) through it ... spot-adjust anything that looks like it needs it with a little gel or hairspray ... I have curly hair and just the finger-run-through makes mine poofy and big ... even with gel in it ... though the gel really helps keep everything pretty tame-looking ... if you are determined to do the braids when your hair is dry, use some light hairspray and a scrunching motion to shape up the ends and the overall look after you let your hair down ... mousse is a possibility, but if you hair tends to go back to straight with moisture, then this may ruin the appearance from the braids ...

if it looks too blocky after you let it down, you can gently separated the locks into 2 smaller locks - GENTLY and slowly so you don't pull, rub, or cause frizz ...

How to tame curled hair...?

you can use imported gell

How to tame curled hair...?

brush it and use hairspray

How to tame curled hair...?

spray it with a lil h2o... or hair spray

How to tame curled hair...?

i have somewhat curly hair and i have been using sunsilk straighing shampoo and condishaner and i dont ever have to straightn my hair any more its amazing

How to tame curled hair...?

put a hair shiner in it, like the stuff that will make it look greasy if its straight, that stuff works awsome on curly hair but doesnt work that well when my hair is straight, touch it up with a curling iron at the bottoms and dont touch it.

How to tame curled hair...?

Try maybe using a hair serum? That would calm down any frizz, but if it's just the style that's too big, serum probably won't help.

Although usually, after you've taken out the plaits and let it settle for a while, it should calm down a bit itself.

Asda does a good serum that only costs 拢1/拢2. Although right now, I am using Tigi's Bed Head range serum and it is good as well.

How to tame curled hair...?

When you have curly hair, you can't run your fingers or a brush through it after it dries. That is rule number one. I have big curly hair and so does every girl in my family...our secret is mousse. You put it on while its still damp and then let it dry and tah-dah, perfect curly hair every time. People come up to me all the time and ask me how I keep my hair so tamed and that is what I tell them.

How to tame curled hair...?

Well, you can put a smoothing creme in, or some kid of moose...before you put n the french plates. Then when you take it out..... it hopefully won't be puffy.

Good Luck!

How to tame curled hair...?

1. Find an empty/clean shampoo bottle (one that's easy to hold with wet hands).

2. Pour conditioner from your current conditioner bottle into 1/3 of the shampoo bottle.

3. Pour hair gel into another 1/3 of the shampoo bottle.

4. Top off with water (this will be the last 1/3 of the bottle).

5. Shake.

6. Shampoo hair regularly (using a dry hair shampoo), finger/comb knots out (do not brush!), and then rinse.

7. Squeeze extra water off hair, and then wrap in towel.

8. Part hair down middle or side and squirt a golf-ball size amount of mixture into your palm, rub your hands together, and loosely finger the mixture down one side of parted hair (palms and fingers together, hair in between), and then the other side.

9. Leave hair as is or tie up. The next day, spritz dry hair with water sprayer, and redo your hairdo. The day after that, repeat steps 6-10.

Also use a clarifying shampoo once a week from the nearest salon to prevent buildup on your scalp.

ALSO condition your curls!

1. Give your curls a hot oil treatment every 2-3 weeks to add moisture to the hair. Mayonnaise works really well, just apply all through out the hair, let it set for about 1/2 hour, rinse. This works for all hair types

2. It is especially necessary to do this during the colder months, when hair can become dry and brittle. It's also important during warm months when swimming and chlorine can wreak havoc on curls. It's best to counter it with a hot oil treatment.

3. The heat opens up the inner cortex and penetrates the hair shaft. You can find this at your local drug store. A good hot oil treatment is Alberto VO5 Hot Oil Treatment. Each tube is 14 ml. It claims that if used regularly, it will lead to 55% stronger hair.

The only thing holding curly hair back from being fashionable is that so many people lack the knowledge necessary to make their curls look fabulous. With the right information, any curly haired girl can go from fighting to loving their hair. This is a lesson I鈥檝e had to learn.

After enjoying years of straight, hassle free hair, puberty hit and I suddenly became the not-so-proud owner of a head of ringlets, with which I had no idea what to do.

I spent years pulling my hair back off my face, desperate to hide the fact that it was curly. Most curly haired girls will have, at one time or another, found ways to conceal their hair.

The first commandment on the path to fabulous curls is: never brush your hair. If you use a brush, you are forcing frizz upon yourself and the extreme force needed is bound to damage your hair.

So throw out your brush. Once you have taken this step, your hair will look better almost immediately.

Instead, comb through conditioner in the shower with a wide toothed comb, and use a detangling spray. The best shampoos to use on curly hair are those created specifically for curls, or at least dry hair as curly hair needs all the moisture it can get.

If you are using a shampoo for normal hair, you're not doing yourself any favours. The Curl Life line by Matrix is excellent, as it prepares curls and begins the styling process as you wash and condition. This is a salon brand and rather pricy, so if your budget won鈥檛 stretch that far a great supermarket line is Pantene鈥檚 hydrating curls, which has shampoo, conditioner and styling products.

Whenever you wash your hair make sure you use a leave-in conditioner afterwards - a cream leave-in conditioner is ideal as it keeps curls moisturised all day.

The main difficulties faced by curly haired girls tend to lie in styling. A lot of girls complain about frizz, but are reluctant to use anything to tame their locks because of the crunchy feel.

Put bluntly, if you want nice curls, you need to use styling products. It's always easier to style your hair after it has been washed, as products are absorbed more effectively by damp hair.

Firstly, mousse used lightly all over will act as a base. Secondly it is necessary to use a medium to strong hold gel to keep curls in place. My favourites include Schwarzkopf Shine Enhance gel, and Joico Styling Lotion.

If you find your hair is still frizzy despite these products, a lightweight hairspray will work wonders to keep frizz tamed all day.

To the constant amusement of those around me, I always keep a bottle of gel in my purse, to deal with any 鈥榝rizz patches鈥?that crop up when I'm out. If all else fails, keep an emergency hair-tie nearby. The best way to have beautiful curls is to be prepared after all.

Having curly hair is underrated. I continually receive compliments from straight haired girls who wish their hair was curly - a testament to the fact that it is not such a bad thing. So instead of hiding your curls and spending hundreds on hair straighteners, indulge in a little curl pride and you might just see the benefits.

How to tame curled hair...?

NEVER BRUSH your curls makes them more frizzy...... when you get out of the shower dry your hair so its not dripping then if you buy got 2 b noodle head works amazingly also V05 -curlying gel ,put some in your hands rub together and put in your hair upside down scrunching with your hands!!!!!!!!! REMEMBER NEVER BRUSH MAKES IT WORSE or if you want to straighten make sure you get a ceramic one ,do it in sections you might look weird but its worth it, use herbal essence get straight spray it protects your hair from the flat iron ... it works for me

How to tame curled hair...?

I cant believe you Brush your hair !! , My Curls have NEVER seen a brush , it just makes it worse !

How to tame curled hair...?

How to tame curled hair...?

I have very curly hair. I brush it after showering with a brush, and use moose Suave is my brand. I don't like gel its to heavy and I have lots of hair moose is light and keeps the frizz down.

Any tips I can use on my daughters hair?

My daughter has long naturally curly hair. When it is wet it is to her waist. When it is humid out, it gets pretty frizzy, when it is dry it looks real pretty and kind of does natural ringlets. She is 9 and has a difficult time brushing it out as it should be. She always wants it in a pony tail because it hurts her when I comb her hair out and get all the snarls out. Any suggestions on shampoo or conditioners I can use on her hair that will make her hair more manageble? I plan to cut it this summer, not short but shorter, she will be going to camp for 1 week and I know she will come back with one big knot if I keep it long. I figure it would be easier for her to take care of her hair while there. Anybody here with hair like hers? Can you give me some pointers?

Any tips I can use on my daughters hair?

We must have the same daughter ;o). I have a 9 year old with the same issues %26amp; hair. She uses scrunchies %26amp; headbands often, but here are some of our tricks:

1.) After she washes her hair, spray on, or brush in a leave in conditioner. Let it air dry (mine usually goes to sleep with it still damp.

2.) use a plant mister with water to wet %26amp; comb out her hair every morning. Then we use a leave in conditioner cream and a curl activator - really. It helps to hold the curls together with less frizz. The stuff we use comes from a salon. It's made by AG hair cosmetics. We use the re-coil activator %26amp; fastfood conditioner.

Any tips I can use on my daughters hair?

One thing that I have seen that works, is garnier fructis. Or get some curl scruncher from Sally Beauty Supply. But garnier has fruit waxes. Main thing is brush it when its wet or use a comb/pick, but don't try brushing it when its dry. Only makes it worse.

Any tips I can use on my daughters hair?

Keep it braided at night. That was my trick. And use a spray on conditioner if you need to comb it while it's dry, otherwise try Frizz Ease serums.

Any tips I can use on my daughters hair?

some tips would be...to make sure that when you brush it out...use a pick..b/c a brush only seperates the hair strands more...making it more frizzy...and then..when you do detangle it..you could try detangler spray...to help loosen the knots...and then it's less painful for her...and once your done..if you don't want to ruin her hair with products..you could use gloss drops which nourish the hair...hope it helps

Any tips I can use on my daughters hair?

I have very similar problems with my hair so I know what she's goin through. When u have it cut, have it cut just longer than her shoulders ( so it's still long, but short enough to be easier to care for). Then, wash it with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Leave the conditioner on for a while. Afterward, either comb it with ur fingers or use a pick. Then, let it air dry and put it up in a scrunchie before bed so that it doesn't tangle. The next morning, take it down and scrunch a smoothing balm in it. It works wonders for mine! Good Luck!

Any tips I can use on my daughters hair?

Well first, dont brush it when its dry, every curly haired girls worst nightmare!! It put me in tears!! You do have to brush it so have her brush it when its wet after she uses conditioner, conditioner will make it much easier and if you brush it after shampooing it will be just as hard. You can try Herbal Essence shampoos and Conditioners that are made just for curly hair or any other kind, a little bit of mousse could help as well, but you may just want to cut it, a little below her shoulders, anything shorter could end up frizzball or odd looking. Good luck

Any tips I can use on my daughters hair?

cut it shorter for the mean time until she gets older?
