I noticed the word ethnic over one section in a store and in that section was all african american products for example a hair brush if you go to the hair brush section you will see all different brands and styles made by different people and companys why is the african american brush and other items seperated i feel its a matter of choice, if you don" t need it or want it you do not have to buy it,do you think this company is being raciest PS... not all african american people use hair brushes i cut my hair very low every 5 days .no need for a hair brush. who are they to deside if your not white dont use black products and if your black you can now choose a different product because its not labled ethnic.less sells for african american products .what do you think about it ,racial yes or no
Ethnic word used in large chain stores?
This is kind of an iffy thing for me. Sometimes it annoys me that some places have exclusively "ethnic/urban" sections (which usually tend to be in the back somewhere..? lol). Other times I go in to the store and wonder, "Where the heck is the black section?" The thing is we have different needs than other races. So we might need a little section for certain things like relaxers, hair grease, facial products, etc. Plus there are companies that create products aimed exclusively at black people. So, that brush might be in the ethnic section because it was made by a company creating "ethnic" products. Though I do think it is ridiculous to see a plain brush in the "ethnic" section... (if it was a hard bristle brush or something like that I'd understand...)
Ethnic word used in large chain stores?
Yes i agree with you ...
Ethnic word used in large chain stores?
It is only racial if you want to see or understand it that way.
Ethnic word used in large chain stores?
racial and stupid. but i think the reason why they do that, have a an ethnic section. is not because of racism, but because of the level of hype nowadays. admit it, everyone wants to be black now! and ethnic stuff sells! i mean, everyone buys "ethnic" stuff now a days. they love it. they do it to make big bucks. its just like how you see clothes companies that are called like "ethno" or just like how everyone loves fubu.
but wait, i read your thing again, and that store you are talking about, does seem kinda racist. or was there black epople workign there? maybe its like a pro-ethnic thing? idk i would have to go there, but by the way you said it, it sure sounds racist. but it might have just sounde that way idk:P
Ethnic word used in large chain stores?
it is also like that in the huge department stores-like walmart for example. People with curly/wavy hair (usually whites) on this aisle, people with thick, coarse hair (usually blacks) on this aisle. For me, I have wavy hair.....so I don't generally use relaxers that often. That would totally ruin my hair. But it does not go by unnoticed
