Cradle cap?

My five week old son is developing cradle cap. I tried scrubbing his head, lightly, with his hair brush while I washed his hair, and no results. Will this go away in due time, any steps to help clear it up?

Cradle cap?

My son had this pretty badly for the first 2 months. I used olive oil, massaged it in his hair, and let it sit there for 5 or 10 minuets, then gave him a bath and rinsed it out, and washed his hair. It worked pretty well. He doesn't have any now and he is 4 months old. Good luck and congratulations

Cradle cap?

There are some special shampoo treatments for cradle cap but I found that Olive Oil works best for temporary relief and that eventually they out grow it. Don't pick at it though. That could cause pain.

Cradle cap?

wash the babys head every day with soap...rinse and dry then put baby oil on it....it will come loose soon..do not scrub the head or scratch it off.

Cradle cap?

Yes, it will soon disappear, don't worry.

Cradle cap mostly bothers moms, not the baby. :)

If it bothers you, try putting baby oil on your child's scalp, after 5 minutes, you can brush it off. But take note, too much scrubbing can irritate scalp (sometimes, if you brush too hard and persistent)

Cradle cap?

Wash his hair daily and apply a very small amount of Johnson's creamy oil to his hair. They also make cradle cap specific creams. Should clear up in a week give or take.

Cradle cap?

You can wash his hair with just a little shampoo, then brush his hair to get anything that maybe in his hair out, then use baby oil and brush again do this for a few days and it will make his hair really soft along with getting rid of cradle cap. Good luck

Cradle cap?

This is natural. It happens to generally all babies. Just rub a little baby oil in your hands and massage it gently into his hair and scalp. He will eventually grow out of it. Oh yeah, trying to scrub it out will only make his little head tender; so just go with the flow and keep it moisterized with the baby oil and he will be just fine.

Cradle cap?

Cradle cap will go away. Just try to prevent the scalp from drying out. My son had it and I just put some baby oil on a cotton ball and rubbed it on his head. I also brushed his hair with his hair brush.

Cradle cap?

Cradle cap is dry skin. Pediatrician will recomend different advise on how to treat. You can use baby oil (a very small amont) rub into hair and scalp area. Let stay on alittle while then with baby brush gently brush. Then wash. Be very careful with baby oil. It is a very dangerous thing to have in the house when baby becomes mobile. If a toddler or infant inhale or swallows this it coats the lungs and actually clogs them up. Nothing can be done to help. The toddler just can not breathe. This warning should be placed on every baby oil bottle.

Cradle cap?

Olive Oil is the best. Don't waste money on all those creams at the store. Just rub some on his head and massage in gently, let sit for ten minutes and then shampoo out while lightly scrubbing with a baby brush. You might have to do this several times before it goes away completely. If it is really bad you can leave the Olive Oil on overnight. It really gets in there and moisturizes baby's scalp. Don't worry it will go away even if you don't actively try to get rid of it.

Cradle cap?

they have speacialized shampoo for the babies for Cradle cap... also try olive oil, just gently rub and massage into his head..and let is sit for like 5 mintues then rinse... but it usually goes away on its own... but if yo uare i na hurry...

Cradle cap?

Many babies develop this dandruff thats all it is the only thing you need to do is try to gentle with a lil comb scratch it up so when you wash his hair some of it will come out and try to keep his hair a lil greased with baby love hair lotion also dont let the cradle cap pile up in the childs hair because it can cause sores also check with a pharmacy tec to get the child some type of infant shampoo for this problem thats my advice take care and dont worry everything is going to be alright

Cradle cap?

My daughter has had cradle cap a couple of times (yes, it can come back!). Getting rid of it really requires a bit of persistance for a few days, but it will go away. Don't stress too much about it in the meantime, it won't cause your son any discomfort at all.

What I did was to smother the affected areas (scalp and eyebrows) in vegetable oil using sterile cotton balls, about 10 minutes before she had a bath. This does nothing other than soften up the little flakes, to make them easier to come off. Then I bathed her as per normal, and rinsed the oil out. Once she was all dry, I lifted up the flakes that were soft enough with my fingernail. This worked a treat. A couple of days afterwards, the cradle cap had disappeared.

If your son's cradle cap becomes severe, you can take him to see the doctor. You'll more than likely be prescribed a topical ointment which should clear it up.

Good luck clearing it up, and congratulations on the new arrival!

Cradle cap?

Very carefully was his hair with a head and shoulders shampoo. Comb out very carefully after washing. Since he is so young check with your doctor first! I don't remember at what age it is safe to do this. But it works wonders. Good luck. Definitely keep it out of his eyes!!

Cradle cap?

I put a small amount of baby oil on my daughter's scalp each night after her bath. It has worked wonders.

Cradle cap?

my daughter had it very bad. what i did was take some baby lotion anda fine toothed comb or my finger nailg and scrap it off. now you can see her beautiful head.

Cradle cap?

My son had it also, for 2 nights i put him in the bathtub and rubbed baby oil on his scalp, let it sit while i washed him up then i rinsed it out, shampooed, and then repeated the next day. He hasnt had any since then. Oh when u rinse it out scrub real good with the wash cloth, then scrub again while shampooing. PS- better to do it at night then in the morning it sometimes leaves the hair greesy looking!
