Curly AND straight hair?

My hair is straight on top, but underneath it's curly. I know people with curls aren't supposed to brush them or they get really frizzy- which is what happens to me. So what do I do to keep the curly part of my head from turning into a kinky mess?

Without seeing a pic its hard to tell but it sounds like what my hair does. I have naturally curly hair and its about shoulder length when dried. The top tends to be straight and the bottom super curly.

Depends on what your going for, if your hair is similar to mine you need it layered, and thinned a little and that will help with an all over curly look.

You can pick up some stuff from Sally Beauty Supply called, Proclaim Glossing Polish, its a frizz tamer. You only use a few drops of the stuff and it works great.

I hope that helps!

why don't you just straightenin' the underneath of your hair where it's curly?

Wow thats just like me!, All it is that you need to get a moisterizer, and put it in your hair, and straighten it with a falt iron called, "Wet to dry" it works great! and if you wanna keep it curly calm your hair down with some oil thats what i do. and i also use a frizzy spray. To help it not get to poofy

Well, you can only brush your curls when they're wet and use a wide toothed comb. And you can also straighten the curls so that they match the other part of your hair.

Use a wide-toothed comb and BE GENTLE. Yes, it's much easier to brush it when it's wet but keep in mind that hair breaks more easily that way and if you yank you'll get a ton of breakage which only adds to frizziness. I'd suggest using a leave-in conditioner to make the combing easier.
