Adding volume to my hair?

My hair tends to get reeeally flat on top at my roots. When I have it done at the salon, after they style it, I have such bouncy, volumized hair. But I can't for the life of me get it that way on my own!

I have a big round brush and some volumizing foam. I typically just flip my head over and dry it (this makes it poofy on the sides, but NOT the roots.) How do I style my hair so I can have that volume and bounce at my roots every day?

I was going to suggest exactally what you are doing now but as that isn't working when you dry it pull hair straight up and put the brush close to the roots and use the round brush to lift roots while blow-drying. Also maybe to set the volumizing foam blast your finished hair with cool air (if your hair dryer has that function I find it really helps to set volume in my flat hair)
